The site of this Class Q modern portal frame barn sits about a mile to the north east of Naseby village which has been actively used until recently as a cattle farm.
The converted floor space will be provided in the form of 2 separate dwellings each with a floor space of 229sqm. All floorspace created is at ground floor level, comprising of a smaller 2 bedroom dwelling and a larger 3 bedroom dwelling, both benefitting from large open plan living spaces.
The warehouse shall provide 3 moderately sized 3-bed dwellings with additional home office spaces. The adjacent land was also approved for 2 x nos. 4 bed dwellings with double garages, whilst being sympathetic to the existing dwellings adjacent.
Given the adjacent dwellings present and the retention of the warehouse, a traditional design approach was adopted. The inclusion of local natural stonework was an addition to the design to provide a strong frontage to the dwellings. The dwellings have been orientated to allow for the private rear gardens to look out onto the existing woodland directly behind the site and provide a countryside setting for the final occupiers.
