When John came to us, he had a wonderful idea for his Grade II listed barn. He wanted to transform it into a 5-bed family home with a garage. Given the barn’s protected status, he knew he needed some help guiding his project through the planning application process and all the restrictions involved.
We went on to create the supporting statement and plans for John’s proposal, consulting with all the right people along the way. We teamed up with our in-house architectural and heritage consultants, making the most of the property while following all the rules.
Our in-house Heritage consultant played a large part in the process, carefully feeding into the project to ensure the barn was designed appropriately given its heritage designation.
The approach we took right from the start helped us to achieve full planning permission and listed building consent for John’s Grade II listed barn. The proposal was carefully thought out, making sure that the conversion would safeguard the long-term use of the building, which would, in turn, prevent it from falling into disrepair.
By working closely with our heritage consultant, we have managed to both secure the future of a heritage building, and make John’s dream a reality.
