Reinforced Concrete Frames.

Reinforced Concrete Frames.

Our engineers have a wide experience in delivering complex reinforced concrete frames from large residential multistorey developments to basements on complicated sites with high level differences.

We use the latest finite element analysis software to provide optimised reinforcement quantities in slabs and retaining walls. We carefully check every design to minimise the reinforcement content and deflections.

From the early stages of a project, we work closely with architects to improve the structure by coordinating column positions to limit the requirements for transfer structures. Blade columns used for a better fire protection design.

Various foundation options are assessed, depending on structure size and the site and either pads, rafts or piled foundations are proposed. Shear walls and core designs are optimised and rebar quantities changed accordingly with stresses at every floor and location.

Basements are carefully coordinated for waterproofing and openings and our drawings include elevations in all complicated walls. Different solutions for basement walls and retaining walls are assessed including RC walls, contig or secant walls specific to site conditions.

Movement joints and horizontal joints are carefully designed to allow for specific deflections and movement of the structure. Structural joints options are assessed with either shear connectors or double columns depending on specific layouts.
