Project Overview

Berrys were approached by Shrewsbury Homes having completed on a sale for land in use as rear gardens that backed on to the prestigious Ridgebourne Road. Berrys obtained full planning permission having completed the design of five luxury dwellings matching the client’s brief.

Ridgebourne road is in the affluent area of Kingsland, Shrewsbury. It is located just to the West of the centre of Shrewsbury in close proximity to Shrewsbury School.  It was imperative that the houses were large, detached and spacious to match the local vernacular.

A mixture of house types was created, based on several images the client had put forwards as their reference point for the designs. From this base, we produced two contemporary dwellings and three more traditionally styled dwellings as per the dominant local characteristics. These were then arranged across a linear development to produce a mix in style and character across the development.

The requirement of each house was to create spacious, free flowing areas by allowing for an open plan living environment with further spaces to be used for offices or playrooms.
