Our client approached us with a view to creating two holiday lodges to be situated in their private forest in Shropshire.
The two storey A-Frame cabins consist of an open plan ground floor complete with a fully functioning kitchen and log burner, as well as a mezzanine level, which accommodates a double bed and reading area, and provides a glimpse of the starry night time sky through the ridge light above the bed.
An entirely glazed gable end allows for a seamless transition to an outside deck which cantilevers over the gorge and creates the illusion that the cabins are floating among the treetops.
They are supported on a series of timber legs which allow the structure to stand on such a steep gradient as well as creating as little physical connection and harm as possible, with the natural surroundings they inhabit.
