Berrys Introduces Specialist Farm Compliance Service
We are delighted to have recruited key members of the former Frontier Compliance team, namely Fiona Spires, Natasha Smith and Roger Mason, to lead a new compliance service from our Midlands offices. With decades of hands-on experience in farm assurance and environmental management between them, their role will be to ensure farmers, growers and agri-businesses continue to meet regulatory requirements while protecting soils, water and animal welfare.
The team will prepare and review core plans that are expected by regulators and assurance schemes, including:
- Nutrient Management Plans
- Manure Management Plans
- Soil Management Plans
- Integrated Pest Management Plans
In addition, they will provide a wide suite of supporting documents:
- Integrated Soil/Water Plans
- Landscape and Conservation Audit and Enhancement Plans
- Water Management Plans
- Waste Management Plans
- Climate Resilience Plans
- Rodenticide Plans
- Pollution Risk Assessments
- Red Tractor Folders and Advice
- LEAF Marque Folders and Advice
- Data for Measuring and Assessing Greenhouse Gas Emissions.
The move is designed to deliver practical support at a time when compliance is becoming more complex, it also adds another string to the bow of our Business, Land Use and Finance team. With in-hand managed farms and a strong consultancy and bookkeeping offering already in place, compliance is a natural fit. Our aim is to provide a personal, practical and cost-effective service that streamlines data and processes, so clients can focus on running profitable, resilient farms.
Although cross-compliance is no longer in force in England it remains so in Wales and NVZ regulations within that legislation in both England and Wales, remain paramount to government targets. With environmental regulation and supply-chain standards tightening, demand for workable compliance plans is growing. The new team, drawing on their decades of experience, will focus first on the priorities for each farm: nutrients, manures, soils and IPM. From there, they can build out to water, waste, biodiversity and climate reporting, while also producing Red Tractor and LEAF documentation and emissions baselines to keep audits simple and straightforward.
For businesses looking to bring paperwork and environmental performance up to date, our new compliance service is designed to bridge the gap.
