Small Grant Schemes For Welsh Farmers

Funding opportunities are currently available to support farm improvements across Wales.

Efficiency – Farming Equipment

Grants from £1,000 to a maximum £15,000, offering up to 40% contribution towards eligible equipment. Choose from a wide range of standard-cost items including livestock handling system, weights systems, EID equipment and arable/grassland equipment. Expressions of interest close 27th February 2026.

Environment – Landscape and Pollution

Receive up to £7,500 per window for capital works that deliver environmental benefits including tree planting, hedgerow laying and on land for environmental benefits, including tree planting, hedgerow coppicing and laying. Expressions of interest close 19th February 2026.

Woodland Creation

Support is available for new woodland projects planting up to 2 ha of woodland in minimum 0.1 ha blocks. Funding is offered per hectare, with payment rates depending on the woodland type, including native woodland, enhanced mixed planting, and fruit & nut species. Additional funding is available for fencing and gate installation and a 12-year maintenance payment to offset loss of agricultural income. Applications open 2nd March 2026 and close 22nd May 2026.
