Anglian Water Farming Innovation Grant Open For Applications
We are pleased to announce that the Farming Innovation Grant provided by Anglian Water has opened for applications.
The grant is competitive and available to farmers with innovative solutions to local water quality issues, providing up to £7,500 per holding to support farmers in sharing the risks associated with trialing new approaches. There are no set options, meaning that any ideas that meet the scheme’s goals may be eligible for funding. The focus is on any projects that could help protect raw water quality from pesticides, nutrients or soil loss, examples include (equipment can be second-hand):
- Direct drills
- Water bowsers with integrated drinking trough
- Low disturbance subsoilers
- Fertiliser spreaders with section control
- Development of robotic weeding technology
- Strip till cultivators
- Precision fertiliser measures
Key Dates:
- Applications Open: 26th January 2026
- Application Deadline: 1st March 2026
- Decisions confirmed: April 2026
- Payments (subject to pre-agreed evidence) : August 2026
Entering its 6th year, the scheme has already successfully supported 241 applicants, with projects worth over £3.6 million, supporting raw water quality for over 113,000ha. Full details can be found at https://bit.ly/4sZ6uAR
