Future Farming Resilience Fund

Find out how we can help your rural business navigate industry changes with fully funded support under the Future Farming Resilience Fund.

Bespoke rural business advice fully funded under Defra’s Future Farming Resilience Fund.

As a registered Future Farming Resilience Fund (FFRF) provider, we are offering fully funded one-to-one business advice to farmers and land managers throughout England, at no cost to the business. This service will be available until March 2025 and is designed to support farmers through the Agricultural Transition period and changes in the industry.

Delivering bespoke advice, our FFRF consultants will visit you to discuss your business. We will then follow up with a report providing an overview of the business and analysing its financial performance, cash position and the impact of the reduced BPS payments.

We will also include recommendations for improvements to the business. This might include for example; advice on changing government support, diversification, succession, planning and development and landlord and tenant matters. We will then put together an action plan highlighting necessary changes with approximate timescales. A total of three follow-up meetings are then available free of charge, allowing our FFRF consultants to provide further support that focuses on a specific area of the business.

By the end of the Agricultural Transition Period, BPS payments will cease to exist. As such, it is vital that farmers and landowners take stock of their businesses and understand the implications of not having these support payments. Our tailored support will help you shape a more resilient, sustainable and competitive business that maximises your assets for a profitable future.

The Agricultural Transition Period (ATP) sets out changes the government is going to make to agricultural policy in England from 2021-2027, this includes phasing out of BPS payments and other grants, and the introduction of alternative schemes to support farmers and landowners.

The Future Farming Resilience Fund is designed to provide fully-funded business support to farmers and land managers during the early years of the agricultural transition period.

Any farmers and land managers who farm within England and currently receive BPS are eligible to apply for support under the Future Farming Resilience Fund, while farms bordering Wales or Scotland can apply if a portion of land is in England. Anyone who benefited from advice under the 2021/22 interim phase or who has applied for the Exit Scheme can also apply.
